True Blood Recap: 9 Crimes – Why Was Russell Edgington at the Werewolf Bar?

by Jane Boursaw on July 11, 2010

true-blood-russell-edgington (Season 3, Episode 28) First of all, I sort of loved Sookie’s makeover goth look when she and Alcide went to the were-bar in tonight’s episode of ‘True Blood.’ Not that she should go with it all the time, but it’s kind of a nice change – like, for Halloween or something. I like the dark pageboy hairdo, and she’s not bad in black leather.

But here’s my question about that whole storyline in tonight’s episode. What was Russell Edgington (played by Denis O’Hare, right) doing at the were-bar? I thought vampires and werewolves were mortal enemies, but he was there turning himself into a vampire faucet, filling up shot glasses with his blood for the wolves to drink (which they did and promptly turned canine).

I know I’m missing a major plotpoint, but why was he there? I’m guessing it had something to do with Debbie Pelt, since she was sort of on display while he was instigating the gruesome celebration.

UMMM.. it is obvious. that were- pack are addicted and fueled by v. they are the vampires that went after bill. Russell showed up to yell at them and take bill away to his mansion. They are connected and actually seem to be under his command. they are probably under his command because they are so addicted to his blood.

You need to go back to that episode when Eric had a flash back with Godric when they were fighting in some war. They were looking for who was supplying the Weres with vampire’s blood. The girl Were (that Eric gave blood to in order to extract information) told Eric that it’s one of their own that was giving the Were’s V. In tonight’s episode we got confirmation that it was Russell Edgington that was behind giving the Nazi Were’s V when he said something about throughout the ages…The Debbie Pelt storyline as another plot line
Hope this helps :-)

Oh right! Thanks, Sika. Forgot about Russell being behind the Nazi Were’s V. I’ll go back and watch that ep again (I usually catch a lot of stuff the second time around).

Lisa – Yeah, they were totally under Russell’s control. Kind of a precarious spot for the were’s to be in. I’m harking back to the first and second episodes this season, where Russell had the wolves after Bill – after they abducted him out of the restaurant.
